Is there any relationship between Chandamama (Hindusium) and Chandrayaan?
The moon is called "Chandamama" in
India because it is considered to be a motherly figure. In Hindu mythology, the
moon is seen as a god and is associated with the goddess Chandi. The moon is
also associated with the god Soma, who is the god of the moon and the plants.
The story behind the name "Chandamama" is that the moon is seen as a
nurturing and caring mother who watches over her children and guides them
through the night. She is also seen as a symbol of fertility and is associated
with the growth of plants and crops. This is why the moon is often depicted
holding a full-grown plant or a water pitcher. In short, "Chandamama"
is a term of endearment and respect that is used to refer to the moon in India,
as it is seen as a motherly figure who watches over her children and guides
them through the night.
Full moon day
Pūrṇimā
(Sanskrit: पूर्णिमा)
is the word for full moon in Sanskrit. The day of Purnima is the day (Tithi) in each month when
the full moon occurs, and marks the division in each month between the two
lunar fortnights (paksha), and the Moon is aligned exactly in a straight line,
called a syzygy, with the Sun and Earth.
New moon day
New moon occurs
when the moon is on the same side of Earth as the sun. New moons generally can't be seen. They cross
the sky with the sun during the day, and the moon's shadow side is pointed
toward Earth. A new moon is visible only during a solar eclipse.
Auspicious day related to moon in Hinduism
Shukla
Paksha (Waxing Moon period) is
a period of 15 days, which begins after Amavasya (New
Moon) day and culminating Purnima (Full Moon) day and is considered auspicious
because it is favorable to growth or expansion on every plane of existence i.e.
Mental, Physical and Spiritual Plane.
What is the Hindu moon ritual?
Chandra Darshan is a
Hindu ritual that is performed to pay homage to the moon, also known as
Chandra. It is usually observed on the day of the new moon (Amavasya) of every
month, when the moon is not visible in the sky. The significance of Chandra
Darshan in Hindu religion is rooted in ancient mythology.
Moon one
of the planets as part of the navagraha
In Indian astrology, the Moon is called Chandra or Soma and
represents the mind, queenship and mother. The north lunar node (called Rahu)
and the south lunar node (called Ketu) are considered to be of particular
importance and are given an equal place alongside the seven classical planets
as part of the nine navagraha.
Moon is considered as the Astrological planet of Mother
(nurture and care). This astrological planet is responsible for the sensitive and motherly side of a person, but apart from that there are many other
aspects of the Moon that make it an important and influential planet for
astrological charts.
Is Moon a powerful planet in
astrology?
Our emotions and mood, more precisely, the mind, are governed by the Moon as the Moon represents mental and emotional power in astrology. So, the role of the Moon is very important in astrology because our feelings help in maintaining stable relationships with others, and the Moon is their ruler of them.
What is mean by Chandrayaan?
Chandranan
means "moon vehicle" in Hindi and Sanskrit.
Five years
after Vajpayee's announcement, on October 22,
2008 a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) blasted off from Isro's launch
site at Sriharikota,
beginning Chandrayaan-1's journey to the moon.
The PSLV initially placed Chandrayaan-1 on a high elliptical orbit around
Earth.
Chandrayaan-1
Chandrayaan-1 was
the first Indian lunar probe under the Chandrayaan programme. It was launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in October 2008, and operated
until August 2009. The mission included an orbiter and a MIP. India launched the spacecraft using a PSLV-XL rocket
on 22 October 2008 at 00:52 UTC from Satish
Dhawan Space Centre,
at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The mission was a
major boost to India's space program, as India researched and developed
indigenous technology to explore the Moon.
Chandrayaan-2 is the second lunar exploration mission developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO),
after Chandrayaan-1. It consists of a
lunar orbiter, the Vikram lander
and the Pragyan rover, all of which were developed in India. The
main scientific objective is to map and study the variations in lunar surface
composition, as well as the location and abundance of lunar water.
The spacecraft was launched from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh on 22 July 2019 at
09:13:12 UTC by a LVM3-M1 rocket. The craft reached the lunar
orbit on 20 August 2019 and began orbital positioning manoeuvres for the
landing of the Vikram lander. The lander and the rover were
scheduled to land on the near side of the Moon, in the south polar region at a latitude of
about 70° south on 6 September 2019.
However, the lander crashed when it deviated
from its intended trajectory while attempting to land on 6 September 2019.
Chandrayaan-3 is the third Indian lunar exploration mission under the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Chandrayaan programme. It
consists of a lander named Vikram and a rover named Pragyan, similar to those
of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. The
propulsion module carried the lander and rover configuration to lunar orbit in
preparation for a powered descent by the lander.
Chandrayaan-3 launched on 14 July
2023, and the lander and rover landed near the lunar south pole region on 23 August
2023, making India the first nation to successfully land a spacecraft near the
lunar south pole, and the fourth country to soft-land on the Moon.
